The 700 East 4th Office project was awarded the first LEED Gold LEED-CI project award for Mecklenburg County. This particular renovation required careful control and management of many factors less critical in new construction. Recycling, material reuse, and operation process control play a big factor in obtaining LEED credits in a renovation/reconstruction.

For the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiners Office, Fryday & Doyne Architecture acted as a consultant to provide material selections and specifications directly related to a second LEED Gold Certification

Twice, our projects have won Excellence in Remodeling Awards open to projects throughout the Charlotte region. The annual awards are coordinated by the Remodelers Council, part of the Home Builders Association of Charlotte.

Judges review entries from both North and South Carolina to select top honors for this joint ASID Chapter Award. Best Retail Design was awarded to FD|integra (formerly Fryday & Doyne) for the Park Road ABC Store where interior design and manipulation of space, light and décor made this project the top winner, and a successful venture for the ABC Board.

The Business Journal sponsors the competition, which is organized annually by the Charlotte chapter of the American Institute of Architects. This award recognizes projects in which design excellence is proven by measurable financial parameters to have enhanced an owner business.

In the 2004 Contractor of the Year awards presented by the Charlotte chapter of NARI, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, one of Fryday & Doyne’s design projects – a home renovation built by MB Speir Construction – won first place in two categories:
